Senna Hills Municipal Utility District will enforce the watering restrictions (Stage 2) set forth below, effective immediately.

Outdoor watering will be limited to ONCE PER WEEK between 6 AM through 10 AM and 7 PM through 10 PM on the designated days below:

Addresses ending in 1, 3: Monday

Addresses ending in 2, 4: Tuesday

Addresses ending in 5, 7: Wednesday

Addresses ending in 6, 8: Thursday

Addresses ending in 9, 0: Friday

Each resident can irrigate on their designated day between the hours of 6 AM through 10 AM and 7 PM through 10 PM.

**NO WATERING ALLOWED ON SUNDAYS.**

Addresses ending in 0, 1, 2, 3:  Monday and Thursday

Addresses ending in 7, 8, 9:   Wednesday and Saturday

Each Resident can irrigate on their designated day between the hours of Midnight to 10AM and 7PM to Midnight.

No watering is allowed on Sundays.

Central Texas continues to be adversely affected by the continuing drought. Senna Hills MUD has adopted a new Drought Contingency Plan effective on 5/1/24.  We are required to adopt a plan that is at least as restrictive as either the plan already adopted by the West Travis County PUA (our water supplier) or the plan adopted by the LCRA (the regional manager of the lakes from which the PUA draws untreated water).   Based on lake levels, effective May 1 we will be in Stage 2 of the new plan.  A full version of the new plan can be found on the Senna Hills website at https://sennahillsmud.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Drought-Contingency-Plan_April-30-2024.pdf.

Below is a summary of the key Stage 2 restrictions effective on May 1, 2024:

• In-ground irrigation or hose-end sprinklers are allowed on the following days based on the last digit of your street address.  These days are the same as the restrictions last year.
  • Monday: 1, 3
  • Tuesday: 2, 4
  • Wednesday: 5, 7
  • Thursday: 6, 8
  • Friday: 9, 0
• Each resident can irrigate on their designated day only from 6AM – 10AM and from 7PM -10PM. The total irrigation window is 7 hours on your designated day.
• Irrigation with a watering can or handheld hose can be done at any time.

Senna Hills Watering Restrictions Update – Two days per week allowed

Due to the loosening of the WTCPUA watering restrictions, Senna Hills MUD will now allow outdoor irrigation two days per week. The two allowable irrigation days are:

• Monday and Thursday – Addresses ending in 0,1,2,3
• Tuesday and Friday – Addresses ending in 4,5,6
• Wednesday and Saturday – Addresses ending in 7,8,9

Irrigation is still only allowed between midnight and 6AM, but now can be done twice per week.

WASHINGTON (March 30, 2020) — Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is encouraging all Americans to only flush toilet paper, not disinfecting wipes or other non-flushable items that should be disposed of in the trash. Flushing only toilet paper helps ensure that the toilets, plumbing, sewer systems and septic systems will continue working properly to safely manage our nation’s wastewater. While EPA encourages disinfecting your environment to prevent the spread of COVID-19, never flush disinfecting wipes or other non-flushable items. These easy steps will keep surfaces disinfected and wastewater management systems working for all Americans.

Preventable toilet and sewer backups can pose a threat to human health and present an extra challenge to our water utilities and their workforce. Flushing anything other than toilet paper, including disinfecting wipes, can damage internal plumbing, local sewer systems and septic systems. Fixing these backups is costly and takes time and resources away from ensuring that wastewater management systems are otherwise working properly. EPA thanks wastewater utilities and their workforce for their courageous efforts at a time when resources may be stretched thin. Having fully operational wastewater services is critical to containing COVID-19 and protecting Americans from other public health risks. Our nation’s wastewater employees are everyday heroes who are on the frontline of protecting human health and the environment every single day.
